fuck the police
so my ex just kicked down my door at one o'clock in the morning, and the police said there is nothing that they can do about it because they did not see him do it (apparently they have to witness a crime being committed), and two because it is a misdemeanor...soooooo basically they are telling me that next time he can kick down my door, beat my ass, and dip and there is nothing they can do about it because they didn't witness it themselves... BULLSHIT!!!!
everytime i decide to move on his pulls a stunt like this...im soooo fucking over it.. what the fuck is the police for if they cant fucking serve and protect..isnt that what they are supposed to do?!?! shit last time i checked thats what they pledge...

that's not true. you can file charges against dude. even if they didn't witness it. put it on record. because like you said...if that's the case next time he can go 4 steps further with the shit.
maybe they mean they can't just go pick him up on suspicion. but they def can make a record that you said he did it.
i'm sorry you even have to deal with shit like that. that's on the level of someone slashing your tires or scratching your car cause they bitching.
This exact thing happened to my sister last summer and the police did absolutely nothing about it. To make matters worse, he did beat her but they made it seem like it wasnt that big of a deal. She had to take out an order of protection and a restraining order.
Good luck with this though. Take action before it does get worse.
OMG! I read your other post before this one! Yes you can file charges against dude and you should like T.U.N. said. You need to have a record of incidents in case he does something else and then he can be arrested.
Ive been through a situation similar to that. The police said the same thing. Not trying to bring race in it but it seems like when it comes to the black community law enforcement do not take abuse seriously but if you were a white woman, Im pretty sure things would have been handled differently.
They would have had a pissy fit.lol!
