facebook what?!?!

today i logged on to facebook and a friend of mine had a status up, we all knew it was about her on again off again boyfriend and the father of her son. what i dont understand (and this is not just for them but for everyone) is why do people insist on putting up their relationship business online especially facebook and then get upset when everyone knows all their business, issues and problems, and are mad when things dont work out between both parties.. i mean facebook doesnt ruin relationships. people do. please get it together and stop the fuckery.. its a shame that people havent learned yet! i wont lie i liked her status but still all your business DO NOT NEED TO BE AVAILABLE TO THE WORLD!! as "adults" people need to realize that certain things are left better unsaid, not everything need to be addressed, and everyone should not know your business. we are all guilty of it once in a while, sitting around having girl talk or chilling with the boys and telling them a little more than they need to know.. but when you take it facebook and other social sites.. smh thats bad business.. what goes on in the house stays in the house. i hope eventually people will learn to stop this madness cause its really not cool.

HER: y is tht men never realize they have a good thing? wen r they going to realize the grass isnt always greener on the other side? wen r they gon realize tht bein a real man consists more than havin a job? wen r they gon realize wen we gone we gone 4 good...

Arkeem 'Flip' Seymour
HIM:
lol... smh- i suppose i shud make one of these for u... hold on, how about: when r women gon realise that sumtime ur grass aint as green as u think it is- and being a real man is about more than having a job but its not about what all he can do for u, especially when u do very little for him or even urself- and when are women gon realise that if u want ur man to be happy with u, u may wanna treat him like more than just ur convenience- and when r women gon realise that it aint always all about u and sumtimes u may just have to do sumn for sumbody else... i mean, if u want to feel justified in ur complaints, anyway... im just sayin... but i do agree with this- when we gone it usually is for good, but men arent the only ones who shud keep that in mind- later =]

negro what?!?!

so i was sitting down with my cousin today and she was filling out the 2010 census when we got down to question number 9 and the it read:

what is person 1's race:
☾☽ white
☾☽ black, african am., or negro
☾☽ american indian or alaska native

NEGRO ?!?!?! what the heck! really?!
when i seen this i was appalled, to say i was shock and disgusted is an understatement. and in a way i was hurt, i was hurt because the united states of america is supposed to be the land of the brave and the free, the land of opportunity and "equality" its 2010 a black man is president and they have the nerve, no scratch that, the audacity to refer to black people as negroes. in a place where millions of people migrate every year, we are supposed to be considered a "melting pot" and you are going to call me a fricking negro. do you not see anything wrong with that? excuse me for my language and questions my patriotism all you want but FUCK AMERICA..FUCK THE GOVERNMENT. FUCK EM ALL.. and i say it with so much emphases. how dare you calling me a fucking negro. black i am. but i am no bodies negro. not now not ever. my ancestors did not endure all that they did for me to be considered a negro in 2010. so you couldnt win the white house so im guessing yall taking cheap shots now. is that what it is?!?! im still going to fill out the census because im not too mad to the point where i will play dumb, but better believe i am writing a letter to the president, congress and im writing to al sharpton and michael basden to draw attention to this because this is ridiculous. if they are going to refer to the black race as negros why the fuck they aint put red necks or cracker next to white?
OBAMA SHOULD OF REALLY CHECKED THIS CENSUS BEFORE IT WAS SENT OUT!!!!

racial profiling still exist....

... please dont be fooled by those who says it doesn't.

check out this story of a young man by the name of Jordan Miles. i found this story on theybf.com and it really crushed my spirit to see what they did to this young man. please pray that he make a speedy recovery and the officers that did this to him will get everything they deserve.
Story:
18 year oldJordan Miles is yet another headlining case of police brutality very likely due to blatant racial profiling. Pittsburgh cops severely beat him and ripped out his dreadlocks after he simply walked out of his mother’s house headed to his grandmother’s.

The photos taken by Jordan Miles’ mother show his face covered with raw, red bruises, his cheek and lip swollen, his right eye swollen shut. A bald spot mars the long black dreadlocks where the 18-year-old violist says police tore them from his head.

Now, 10 days after plainclothes officers stopped him on a street and arrested him after a struggle that they say revealed a soda bottle under his coat, not the gun they suspected, his right eye is still slightly swollen and bloodshot. His head is shaved. The three white officers who arrested him have been reassigned. And his mother says she is considering a lawsuit.

“I feel that my son was racially profiled,” Terez Miles said. “It’s a rough neighborhood; it was after dark. … They assumed he was up to no good because he’s black. My son, he knows nothing about the streets at all. He’s had a very sheltered life, he’s very quiet, he doesn’t know police officers sit in cars and stalk people like that.”

A judge continued the case until Feb. 18 after the officers failed to appear at a hearing Thursday, Miles’ attorney, Kerrington Lewis, said.

The police department is saying little as it investigates and isn’t releasing the officers’ names. Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said that the city is investigating whether the officers’ actions were justified and that if they weren’t, “they will be held accountable for those actions.”

“The incident was very troubling to me, and we’re taking it very seriously,” Ravenstahl told reporters. “It seems as if there was a tremendous amount of force used.”

By the way, Jordan is a studious teenager who plays the viola in his jazz band and orchestra at Pittsburgh’s prestigious Creative and Performing Arts High School.

“Reassigned?” Hair RIPPED out of this teenager’s head? And his jacket only held a soda bottle..not a gun? I’m disgusted…to say the least. Speak on it…

friendship has no color

i am aware that there are people in this world that are ignorant. no two people think alike and not everyone will always agree on certain things, especially sensitive subjects such as race, i am aware of this. i can tolerate difference. i can tolerate someones opinion (even if i may not agree with it,) what i can't tolerate though is ignorance.

for the first time in a long time i felt heartbroken today. not because of something a family member or friend did to me, but because of what a stranger said to me. i never felt so crushed before i have cried over a break up or other simple things. ive cried. but today i was so hurt and mad that not one tear fell from my eyes.

today i was in the health center at my university and i ran into one of my friends loren (pink shirt in pictures on top) since loren and i have both been extremely busy i havent seen her in a while but we still call and text one another at least once a week to check on one another. anyway we were in the health center and suprised we ran into one another so we hugged one another and was talking all of a sudden someone says " oh my gosh, what the fuck" of course i did not think the comment was towards us cause all we were doing was hugging and talking. so loren and i continue to talk and the same voice says to another person "do you see that shit, what the fuck is she doing hugging that black girl, west ga need to stop admitting these people." ok at this point i knew exactly who she was talking about... ME... i was disgusted... excuse me how dare you call me "these people" and what is wrong with us being friends. i have never been so disrespected, and infront of a room of like 60 people. it wasnt the fact that it was in public, it was the fact that she felt the need to say what she said and its sad that she feels that way. loren apologized to me for something a stranger to both her and i said, she felt the need to because they were both white. i told her it was not needed, skin color does not mean that any two people are the same. i dont want anyone to apologize to me or feel bad for me because i dont feel bad for myself, its the reality of the world we live in, but i just thought that in 2009 we will be striving towards progress but it feels as though as a society and nation we have been stagnant

although i am upset and mad as ever i honestly feel for her. someone who can be so evil and dark seriously needs help. how could you look at me and automatically assume that because i am black i can only be friends with those of my own race. i thought the purpose of college was to experience new things, expand your horizons && meet new people, but ever since i have started college it has been the complete upset. people out here in this small town are so closed minded its scary.

friendship is not defined through color. i am embrace everyone and thankfully i have been blessed enough to come across enough people who have embraced me regardless of my skin color, but unfortunately there are still people out there who can't open their hearts to except people regardless of differences.

*pictures on top are of my sister, loren, sar, bec and myself... and guess what they are some of my closest friends*

father

this past weekend my father called me and i spoke to him for the first time in almost two months. i had been trying to get in contact with him since may but he never answers his phone and he was waisting my money so i stopped calling... those international phone calls add up after awhile. i never enjoy speaking with my father and sometimes it upset me that i have to. its not that i dont love him, because i do, but my love for him is the reason why i cant stand speaking to him. in order for anyone to understand what i am saying they will have to know my story, so here it goes: when my mother was pregnant with my sister and i my father got locked up, he was sentenced to  fourteen years in federal prison. well he actually received more time but when you do time with the feds they cut your time down. anyway he finally came out when i was in the ninth grade, since he is not american he was deported back to jamaica. from there he moved to england. he was not out of jail for no more than two years before he was back in jail. his second time around he was not in for too long only about a year or two (honestly i stopped paying attention) after he was released he was deported out of england and sent back to his home where he currently reside.

now when i was younger although my father was miles away and we could not have a typical father- daughter relationship he and i were close... or at least i like to think so. my mother made sure my sister and i always visited him every two weeks. he always sent us things (had other people send it to us for him) and he always always called. after his second arrest that all changed, and i can be honest and say that most of it had to do with my attitude towards him, but i am not the only one to blame for our distance and lack of respect towards one another. i used to respect my father, i no longer do. i still love him but i don't have an ounce of respect for him anywhere in my body. if i sat here and said that our current relationship did not bother me i would be lying, i wish we had a better relationship with one another but we don't. i cant respect a man who is so ignorant. ignorance is my biggest pet peeve and a big turn off and my father is not exempt from that. here are a few things that he has said that makes me dislike him more and more with every conversation.
1. you should be proud of me, i am not in jail (why should i be proud of you... that somewhere you shouldn't want to go)
2. why you marking up your body with tattoos (isnt a little too late to parent me now at 21)
3. everything you do your sister follow you, so stop getting them tattoos cause she is does what she see you do (umm we are twins but we are two different people with two different minds. and she has more tattoos than me)
4. here is your sister/ brother/auntie/uncle/my high school friend number. please call them (wtf?)
5. why you dont call me?
6. i am coming there next year to come and see you ( you cant get back in the country. how you coming? in a barrell?!)
7. you know and i know your mother still love me. she needs to leave her husband (ummm)
8. he gives my number out to everyone.. stay having random ppl call my phone
9. mixes jamaican accent with english (england) accent... sounds a fucking mess and he stresses it
10. he listens to what other people tell him about me, doesn't try to get to know me himself
11. TRYING TO BE A PARENT A LITTLE TOO LATE.

the last two are the biggest factors for me. at 21 its too late for you to all of a sudden be a part of my life. its too late for you to tell me not to get any tattoos or piercings. not trying to be mean but my stepdad did his job for him. he was there when my father wasnt. dont get me wrong i acknowledge my father and i always tell people i am lucky enough to have two fathers when some dont have one but in all honesty my true father is my mothers husband, he knows me better than my biological. my step father is the one who runs out and gets me pamprin and pads when i need it, he takes care of me along with my mother when i am sick, he was there for me when i was in both my car accidents, drop me to school and pick me up when my car was out of commission, he does my laundry and folds it up, cleans my room when he gets bored, he loves my mother and never abandoned her. he loves my sister and i as if we where his own. he loved me even when i didnt love him... he is my father... my real father. i love my biological but he can honestly never be what my step father has been to me.

i will try to build a better relationship with my father. like my mom says he does not know any better. so i will try to cope with him because i do love him. sometimes i want to cry but i never will... my pride is too big. i just wished he would learn from his past but he hasn't and i wish he didn't use my sister and i as a reason to "try" to do better. he needs to do it for himself.

(oh and the other day he called me a spoiled bit... well he started saying it and then caught himself. but he called me spoiled and said i was full of myself... he cant believe my mother made me end up like this... all because i told him he has no say in the decisions i make at this point in my life.)

weave removing at applebees

pic #1: cess sweeping in the back and J assisting sunshine with her hair..

so saturday night i went to the movies with my sister and some friends. it was a fun night. we seen "the hangover" and that movie is funny. you will laugh from beginning to end non stop... anyway after going to the movies we went to applebees to get some drinks and just chill we ended up leaving applebees around two o'clock drunk and full. while we were there my friend sunshine decided that she wanted to get a head start on pulling out her hair for me to do it. but what she didn't take into consideration was the fact that we were in public and in a restaurant. then it gets worst her boyfriend (the white guy in the picture) gets up and starts helping her take her hair out...but the bad part was he used a steak knife to cut the thread....OMG can it gets any worst?! yes it does...ces gets up and starts sweeping the floor talking about they just turned applebees into a hair salon... (falls on the floor...smh) i am done..i cant take no more
*WALKS OUT THE DOOR*
